Is this building a clamorous copy of Terragni Casa del Fascio?

Terragni Casa del Fascio – the 1936 building in Como, Italy –  seems to have infected the German architects and their composition of the facade. It is hard not to think to the very important rationalist architecture of Giuseppe Terragni when you look at this architecture of the study Freivogel-Architekten – recently made in Germany.

I will not believe that they didn’t know it, as I don’t want to believe that they have copied hoping not to being discovered. I guess it’s a clear and simple declaration of love to the Italian Architect of the first half of last century.

A merit certainly has been obtained only by the side of the German Studio. They have given a new connotation to this shape. A new technologically efficient connotation – in fact this is the result of an intervention which purpose was to improve the energy efficiency of an existing building – and they did it very well.

The points in common are various – the articulated grid – the great white band on one side for example) and also the generous space in front of each building! (for this German architects are not to blame) The proportions are quite different but the similarities are impressive.
